# Compliance

> Transaction screening and address blocklists on Mayan.

Mayan applies transaction screening and address blocklists to help reduce exposure to sanctioned or high-risk activity.

## How screening works

Transactions are checked against third-party compliance and risk data, including **Chainalysis** and **Hermod by zeroShadow**.

Where an address is flagged by these controls, Mayan may prevent the transaction from being processed through the protocol.
