# Security & Audits

> Information about Mayan security and smart contract audits.

Mayan's smart contracts and Solana programs have been audited by [OtterSec](https://osec.io/) and [Sec3](https://www.sec3.dev/). The reports are below.

The contracts are permissionless and non-custodial. No single party can freeze or move assets held in them.

Cross-chain messages are validated by Wormhole's Guardian network, which requires 13 of 19 independent organizations to sign before a message is valid.
